Using PTFE sheets ensures even heat distribution during the heat transfer process and protects the heat press platen by creating a barrier between the platen and the sublimation paper or vinyl. These sheets prevent residue from glue and ink on the platen, enabling you to focus on creating great designs rather than stopping to clean the platen.

A common mistake, especially during busy periods, is placing the vinyl or sublimation paper under the press with the wrong side facing up. The design may be pressed onto the underside of the plate, requiring cleaning before pressing can continue. Cleaning the platen can be difficult and time-consuming, but by using a PTFE Sheet you can simply remove or replace the sheet and continue pressing with minimal downtime, reducing risk to garments.

Our PTFE Sheets also help keep the garment in place, eliminating the need for heat tape and preventing ghosting caused by transfer paper sliding across the garment when the platen is lifted. You can also use an additional PTFE Sheet under garments to prevent sublimation inks from penetrating the rubber lower platen cover.
